The Pencil Progress

This week, we're talking about drawing hair using colored pencils.

The video below shows you how I construct the large shapes early on.

You'll see how I focus on the big shapes and volume of the hair right from the get-go.

No need to fret about individual strands just yet – that comes later. Early in the process, it's all about the overall form, and how the lights and darks play out based on how the light strikes the hair.

Enjoy!

Here's what's happening:

We completed our Members Only Office Hours with Guest instructor Giddy Richt this past Saturday.

Giddy was so generous in sharing her process on canvas that she uses to create her mesmerizing portraits!

Here are a couple of screenshots from that presentation:

The recording is available inside Members Circle.

Don't miss the next presentation inside Office Hours!

**Members Only Office Hours with guest instructor Gemma Gyling, Saturday, Sep 16th. Be sure to RSVP to join the live demo with Gemma!

33 of the 40 seats have already been taken. This will be full, just like Giddy's presentation was!

Here's a screenshot of our new project for the Friday Follow-Along:

We showed the process for creating the line drawing. This Friday we'll be transferring it to our project surface.
